We live a simple life here in the mountains of NH which means we do a lot of outdoor activities. Now this isn't always by choice on my part. City girl misses her mall!!!
But my daughter is growing up with fresh air in her lungs and she's learning to enjoy the beauty of nature.
One of her favorite activities is fishing. She loves walking around the woods, exploring cold mountain streams with her toes, and most of all devouring little fried fishies she catches and kills with her Gramps.
Yesterday Gramps chased down a fish stocking truck, and found where they were dumping farmed fish into a local stream... so he ran home, grabbed all his fishing gear and loaded us into the car for a bit-o-fishing.
We only caught one little tiny brook trout, but we kept him, and later when we got home, Rowan thoroughly enjoyed him all fried up in some butter... Mmmmmmm

An afternoon in a Princess Castle
Sorry I don't write much anymore. Life right now is in a very quiet place. We have our little routine of school in the morning, cleaning and playing in the afternoon, working out, making supper for Daddy when he gets home, and then spending the nights hanging out together before the very early bed time of 7pm. (Not me, I stay up and read).
Our afternoons playing are spent in Rowan's pink princess room. She could quite possibly be the most spoiled 3 1/2 year old ever alive...
Pink enough for you?

Hens
I haven't posted pics of the keets in a bit, actually we've moved on to calling them hens now because they've gotten all thier feathers in.
We moved them outside last weekend into the nice chicken coop that Grandpa and Daddoo built for them.
They're happy and living it up and even taking small flights around the coop.
Once they get a bit bigger, we'll start letting them out... I just want them to be able to evade and defend themselves against the bird murderer... errrr cat lol

An adventure in history
Today my hubs and dad ripped out our old staircase and built new less steep stairs. My daughter had a dickens of a time getting up the old ones, so it was definitely needed.
While ripping down some old horse hair plaster they found a bunch of receipts dated 1929!!! They were given to a Charlie Martin from the G.L Barney General Merchandise store... I find that sort of thing fascinating.
We headed over to the town library and checked out the Grafton History book, and sure enough we found information about the receipts.
There was indeed a Charlie Martin that owned this house... and the corner store on our road was once named Barney's Store.
It was so neat to find all that in a book, and to find receipts stuffed in our old walls.... call me a dork, but it made my day lol
