I did a little price checking today on the items I bought at Shaws just because I was a little currious.

Betty Crocker Cake Mix - 1.79 - shaws Card off .54 Total 1.25 (always 1.25 at Walmart)

I just thought it was interesting that most of the prices were almost the same before using a coupon at all. Granted at Shaw's I did earn that 10 dollars off your next purchase coupon, but its definitly not worth shopping there unless I'm going after that deal.

My Shaws Trip

My Shaws trip went ok. I'm sure as time goes by and I build up a better aresenal of coupons it'll be better.

I also went late in the week and a lot of the items I had planned to buy were gone.. so I had to re-route my plans. Also, I made the mistake of cutting my coupons porely and so they would not accept them because the expiration dates had been clipped off. My bad! I'll do better next time.

Anyhow, I think I still did pretty good.

Woo hoo!

Now Granted I bought a lot of sweets which I don't normally buy, but they'll last us a while and that's not a bad deal! Here's a visual of all the food I just got for less than 18 dollars!

Updated - because apparently Shaw's also doubles coupons under 99cents.

Taking a queue from Bargain Becky over here... I've decided to take advantage not only of coupons.. but also of Shaw's Buy 10 Items get 10 back on your next purchase. (OYNP).

This week's flier also lines up with many of the coupons i've clipped online. Here is the break down of what I'm going to buy.

1 Cookie Crunch @ 2.5 - .1.50 in coupon = 1.00
2 Chex snack bars @ 5.00 - 2.4 in coupons = 2.60
2 Grands Biscuits @ 4.00 - 1.00 coupon = 3.00
2 Pilsbury Cookie @ 5.00 - 1.00 coupon = 4.00
1 Warm Delights @ 1.66 - 1.10 coupon - .56
2 Toaster Strudels @ 4.00 - 1.40 in coupon = 2.60

Total = 13.46

I will earn 10.00 towards my next purchase however, which means my items really only cost 3.46.

That means each item costs roughly 35 cents!
