Another Square anther dollah

Here is my April Ravelry CAL 12 inch square. Its actually the crafster square, but I didn't much like the ravelry one.

I did it in the bright fun colors inspired by my recent purse :)

New Square

This square makes me so happy. I love love love this color combination. I stole it from one of my inspiration pics... but the square I got off of here.

Here is snapshot of all the 12 inch squares I've done. I can't decide if the two squares on the left will end up in the Ghan... but they may.. depends on how it looks when I get to the end :)

Joining Rowan's Afghan

I have been putting quite a lot of thought into how I was going to join Rowan's afghan ... and so today I set out on doing some research online.

In the end the stitch I chose was one that had video tutorials so it was easier to learn.

I liked this stitch too because it was light airy feeling like quite a few of the blocks I've done. It also creates a border on each square which not only ties the color into it, but also make my squares ever so slightly larger, which is nice because it saves me some time :) I also won't have to go around the entire afghan with a border stitch either. another bonus.

Anyhoodle.. here are the results.... I've put 4 blocks together to give it a try :)

Coming Along

Here are a few of the 6 inch blocks I whipped together for Rowan's afghan this weekend. I think its coming along pretty nicely.. It should be gorgeous once completed. :)

I got a few patterns here. I love this woman's designs!

2009 CAL - Filler Square, Butterfly Garden

I love this square... in fact I'm going to do a smaller version for Rowan's Afghan too.

The little butterflies were so fun to make :)

2009 CAL February Filler Square - Single Heart

This square was a pain in the ass.. and it still doesn't lay flat. I'm sure I messed something up, but after redoing it a thousand times I just said screw it.

Idle hands are the Devil's Workshop

Yup I needed more to do, so I decided to also work on the 6 inch ravelry Crochet Along.

Here are the two squares I made yesterday. This afghan will be smaller and will be a gift for Rowan. Its going to be in all shades of pink, rasberry, green and cream. :)

2009 Crochet A Long - February Alternate Square - Caring Hearts

Here is the caring hearts square. Unfortantly because of my multi colored yarn, the heart shapes don't show up in photos at all. Here is a link to the pattern so you can see what it looks like.

2009 CAL February Square - Two Tone

Here is Febuary's Square.. they released it early. I was blown away this morning when I went on the site (having just been on last evening) to see some women had whipped out the square already! I felt a bit like a slacker haha.

I love how this one came out, mostly because of the color combination.. a deep rusty orange and a dark teal.

Here are all the squares together again.. this is going to be one bright blankie!!

2009 CAL - Star Overlay Square

This isn't actually part of the CAL Afghan but I got bored and wanted to create a filler square.

I chose the Star Overlay because I thought it was fun and whimsical.. and since my Afghan is going to be super colorful and playful, it fit right in!

Here it is as well as how it looks against the other 2 squares.

All in a Days Work- The Mandala

I recently joined a Crochet-a-Block group on the Raverly.com.

Here is my first block... its called Mandala and the pattern can be found here.

I plan on making two of each block so that my afghan ends up being about 6 feet by 4 feet.
